‘zambian time’ cost UNIP its nominations in kabushi

UNITED National Independence Party (UNIP) candidate Kebby Kaseba has failed to file his nominations for the Kabushi Parliamentary by-election after he arrived late.

Kabushi Constituency Returning Officer Elias Mwalaba told Mr Kaseba that he could not accept his nomination as he came late.

“We are going to be unfair if we go ahead and accept your nomination paper,” he said.

In his explanation,  Mr Kaseba said he turned up late because he went to mobilize nomination fees.

Meanwhile, four aspiring candidates successfully filled their nomination papers.

The candidates include the ruling United Party  for National Development (UPND) candidate Benard Kanengo, Osias Telela of Leadership Movement, Alfred Yombwe, Independent and Richard Kalasa also independent.

Former Kabushi MP Bowman Lusambo was disqualified.
