UNKNOWN Criminals have allegedly damaged a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to Patriotic Front (PF) Central Committee Member Davies Mwila.
The incident is believed to have occurred on Thursday at around 09:00 hours at a fueling station in Ndola’s Kansenshi area when Mr Mwila accompanied by other PF members were returning to Kitwe from giving support to Bowman Lusambo who was filing nominations for the Kabushi seat.
Copperbelt Province Commanding officer Sharon Zulu said police received a case of malicious damage in which a Toyota Land Cruiser registration BCC 1910 had it’s rear side windows left and right damaged.
She said the damages to the vehicle are believed to cost K17,000.
“Brief facts are that on Thursday August 25th, 2022 around 09:00 hours the Mr Mwila went to Ndola Main Secondary School where nomination were taking place. After he finished doing what he followed, Mr Mwila and PF colleagues decided to go back to Kitwe. On their way they decided to stop at Total Filling Station near Kansenshi Cemetery to buy some drinks. Whilst at the filling station Mr Mwila saw a group of people who came at the filling station and one of them went to his vehicle and opened the door. That was how the Mr Mwila pulled back the door and locked it from inside,” she said.
She said that Mr Mwila then told Raphael Nakachinda who was driving the vehicle to drive away because at that time the group that had attacked them started throwing objects at the vehicle.
“That is how the two windows got damaged, and they drove off to Kitwe. On August 26th around 16:20hours, they decided to report the matter officially. Upon receipt of the report, police visited the scene. Investigations have since been instituted into the matter,” she said.
