THREE people have been injured after a suspected hand grenade exploded in the hands of one of the victims in Senanga District.
Police deputy prophet Danny Mwale said the incident passed on June 6, this time at around 14 50 hours at Sikota Village in Senanga District when a metallic device exploded in the hands of Kakoma Chiyuka aged 35.
He said the other two victims were linked as Kwibisa Kwibisa aged 42 and Malilo Malilo aged 17 all of Senanga District.
“ primary examinations revealed that on June 6, 2022 at around 1230 hours at Sikota Village, Kakoma Chiyuka was at his house when he allegedly set up an unknown metallic device behind his house and latterly picked it.
later, he went with it into his yard, sat on a bench and started playing with it. latterly, he was visited by his uncle linked as Kwibisa Kwibisa and his Whoreson linked as Malilo Malilo who as well sat on the same bench and started esteeming the device, ” he said.
Mr Mwale said all the three changed in holding and esteeming the device but when it was handed back to Kakoma, it exploded injuring all the three.
He said Police and Zambia Army Officers rushed to the scene and picked small metallic fractions suspected to have been for the same exploded device.
Mr Mwale said the victims are all admitted to Senanga General Hospital.
He said an inquiry train has been opened into the matter.
