Tanzanian man nabbed for trafficking in 77 kilograms of cannabis

THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) in Lusaka Province has arrested a Tanzanian national for trafficking in over 77 kilograms of cannabis contrary to the Laws of Zambia.

DEC public relations officer Mathias Kamanga said Kanji Abdukarim Rajabu, a male aged 39, has been arrested for trafficking in 73 bundles of high-grade cannabis with a total weight of 77.1 kg which was concealed in 2 washing machines.

“The contraband came into the country from South Africa via Chirundu Border Post and the suspect was arrested from Inter-city Bus Terminus.The suspect is in Police custody and will appear in court soon,” he said.
