Charmaine Shamiso Mpambiro, affectionally known as Sha Sha in musical circles has finally made history for being the first Zimbabwean to ever bag a BET nomination.
She broke the news last night on her Twiter handle expressing how grateful she was for the breakthrough. She not only celebrates alone but with the whole nation behind her.
Above all, she is the first to ever be nominated from Zimbabwe.
“I’m out of words, did not see this coming at all. Honestly, I’m just grateful, thankful, excited, numb just a whole lot of emotions, the mere fact that I’m nominated, man! This is amazing! I need you all more than ever to bring this home,” she announced.

Sha Sha is nominated under BET’s Viewer’s Choice Internations Act category.
And is going head to head with Nigeria’s star, Rema, Celeste, Young T and Bugsey from U.K., Hatiki and Stacy from France.
The songbird who’s popularly known as Sha Sha – a Shona name which loosely translates to “the best” has made headlines as the hottest female star this moment in the neighbouring country, South Africa, where she hails from.
She was born and bred in Zimbabwean eastern town of Mutare. She however spent most of her time in koBulawayo where she grew the love of her music genre. This also helped her gain proficiency in the isiZulu language.
The Amapiano queen has rose to fame through her banging hot collaborations with DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Samthing Soweto. Her newly released debut EP, Blossom has topped charts since.
Her mesmerising voice in hit songs such as Tender Love have melted hearts of many. We wish her all the best in this breakthrough.
