PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has reiterated that government wants to work in partnership with the church to ensure that the country is taken forward.
Speaking during the ordination of 12 newly ordained priests in Ndola at St Anthony of Padua Parish in Ndola today, President Hichilema said government wants to ensure that the partnership with the church continues to grow so as to serve the people.
In congratulating the 12 newly ordained priests, President Hichilema thanked them for being dedicated and committed to answering the call to serve God.
The new priests are Father Joshua Mumba, Emmanuel Kanduwa, Marshal Hamukombo,Angel Chanda, Derby Kamanga, Raymond Mpundu, Ernest Mukuka,Gabriel Chilekwa, Pethias Kafula, Patrick Mulenga, Davies Lunda and Belay Laba.
“Thank you for dedication and commitment to answer the call to serve God. We ask God to continue guiding you. He brought you this far. And to the families, we thank you for raising these priests. We also thank the Catholic Church for its ability to raise priests,” he said.
President Hichilema also asked the church to keep advising government so that development can be attained in the country.
