A 47-YEAR-OLD Zambian who was reported missing in South Africa is battling for his life in hospital after being hit by a car.

Elijah Makina, who went missing on two days ago has been found at Tembisa Hospital in Johannesburg after some good Samaritans rushed him there following a hit-and-run accident.

Mr Makina’s wife last evening confirmed the development to Zambian High Commission in Pretoria saying her husband remains hospitalised.

She said family members back home and the Zambian community in South Africa have been notified of the latest development.

She has thanked Acting Zambia High Commissioner in Pretoria, Inonge Mwenya, and her staff for the help they rendered by ensuring that the disappearance of her husband was communicated to members of the public without which she says would have been difficult to locate him.

This in a statement issued by First Secretary, Tamara Nyirenda.
