I remain here: After being shot 40 times, Florence Masebe survives.

On August 18, 1999, the South African actress Florence Masebe suffered 40 gunshot wounds.

Florence thinks back on the horrible day that nearly cost her life 23 years later.

She claims that she bothered no one, yet they shot her and vanished without a trace.

They were so confident. They were unaware that this rare lioness existed. This young woman was shot numerous times but managed to survive. She survived! I live!

“23 years later, I still find that this anniversary gives me a strange impulse to acknowledge the win… Not on August 18, 1999, did I pass away. I’m still here and my name is Florence Masebe.

“I am here,” Florence says, “lovely scars and all. I’m still appreciative of life. I’m grateful that I was able to bounce back and not let the shooting define me 20 years later.

 

In an Instagram from two years ago, the actress mentioned something that was heartbreaking by revealing how her 4-year-old saw in a pool of blood.

“There will come a time when I no longer remember what happened to me on this day in 1999. The scars are a beautiful reminder of what did not happen. I did not die. I am here. In a song for Amadou Diallo, @wyclef asks “Have you ever been shot 41 times?” My answer is Yes, SIR! And I did not die. I still play this song a lot It’s been 21 years. In a few days my daughter turns 25. She saw me in a pool of my own blood in our driveway on August 18th 1999. No 4 year old should see that. My victory song is louder every year.’

On August 18, 1999, outside her house, Florence Masebe was shot 40 times. The actress had to have many operations to get the bullets out, spent weeks in the hospital, but she made it through the horrible experience.

“Instead of letting fear control, I decided to concentrate on being alive.

Over 900 women were murdered in the final three months of 2021, according to the most recent crime statistics.
In addition, 1 240 attempts to murder women were made.

Zoleka Mandela Fights Cancer Once More

After realizing that her battle with cancer is far from finished, Zoleka Mandela is in a state of paralyzing fear.

“I’ve had a bad back for more than a month, and I just saw my doctor when the agonizing pain in my left rib became intolerable. I recently had an x-ray of my chest and rib; it revealed that I had a pathological fracture and cancer-related edema “Zoleka composed.
“I am here,” Florence says, “lovely scars and all. I’m still appreciative of life. I’m grateful that I was able to bounce back and not let the shooting define me 20 years later.
