The Embassy of Sweden in Zambia Mourns the Passing of Former Ambassador Anna Maj Hultgård
It is with deep sorrow that the Embassy of Sweden announces the passing of former Ambassador Anna Maj Hultgård, a distinguished diplomat and cherished member of the international community. Ambassador Anna Maj, who served in Zambia from 2019 to 2022, left an indelible mark as a highly respected colleague and Head of Mission.
Known for her warm and engaging personality, Ambassador Anna Maj forged strong connections during her time in Zambia, both within the diplomatic community and among the Zambian people. She actively participated in various political discussions and demonstrated a genuine commitment to the country’s development, often visiting projects across the Zambian countryside.
The Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka fondly remembers Ambassador Anna Maj for her proactive and positive contributions. To provide an opportunity for the public to express their condolences, a Book of Condolence will be available at the Embassy from November 16th to November 21st, between 0900-1200.
Ambassador Anna Maj Hultgård’s legacy will be remembered with gratitude and respect, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
