Renowned media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, recently took to social media to outline his reasons for not aligning with serving God.

The discourse arose from a video featuring Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recounting an experience in Colorado, USA. Pastor Adeboye mentioned how he prayed for warm weather instead of cold during his visit to Colorado in January and claimed that God altered the weather, bringing in summer instead of winter.

In response to this narrative, Daddy Freeze sparked controversy with his remarks on the practice of Christianity in Nigeria. He expressed his reluctance to serve a God who, in his view, could not prevent election rigging in Nigeria but supposedly intervened to change the weather in Colorado.

He went further to encourage Nigerians to rethink their perception of what their parents deem as ‘god’.

“I cannot dedicate myself to a deity that halts snowfall but seemingly can’t bring back individuals like Osinachi or young talents like Mohbad. A deity who witnesses his devoted followers suffer in poverty and hunger, yet fails to stabilize the plummeting Naira, despite his son’s proclamation in 2016. A deity whose celestial beings supposedly guarded polling stations, yet electoral fraud persisted without obstruction. It is now incumbent upon us to redefine the understanding of what our predecessors regard as ‘god’,” Daddy Freeze asserted.
