Chipolopolo Players Arrive for Congo Clash
Several Chipolopolo players have arrived in the country ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville on Friday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. Among the early arrivals are striker Fashion Sakala, winger Lameck Banda, and midfielder Rally Bwalya. The team has gathered in Ndola for preparations.
Zambia’s coach, Avram Grant, has called up 25 players for the crucial match against Congo. However, there are fresh injury concerns for Zambia, with captain Lubambo Musonda, China-based striker Evans Kangwa, and Zesco United stars Kelvin Mubanga reported to be injured. Additionally, injured defender Frankie Musonda, midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu, and club-less defender Tandi Mwape are ruled out of the match.
Given the recent injuries, Grant may need to call up additional players to bolster the squad for the upcoming match.
