Boity Thulo and her lover Anton Jeftha were on a December getaway when they let the cameras in. The two have tried to keep their relationship a secret. Faced with mounting pressure and audience interest, they ultimately let the cat out of the bag and announced their relationship on Instagram.

Boity and Anton welcomed the new year with a much-needed holiday at Mhondoro Safari Lodge, which was filmed by SABC3’s The Insider.

The couple described their relationship as more of a “friendship” than anything else. They said that their sense of humour and music choices are what drew them together.

When asked about her ‘bestie,’ Boity stated, “I love him for who he is.” Anton, on the other hand, is awestruck by Boity’s sense of humour. The two then kissed on camera.

Trolls predicted that once they found out about their romance, it would end in tears because celebrities are renowned for splitting up. Some mentioned the R450 000 girlfriend allowance that Boity stated she expects from her partner. They teased Anton, saying he couldn’t afford such a large sum.

Mihlali created a section called Cocktail Hour With Boity on her YouTube channel, where they made their own cocktails.

Mihlali claimed that her ex-lover used to give her an R50,000 allowance for her girlfriend, which Boity thought was cute.

“I once had a girlfriend allowance, and shame on me, it was cute,” Mihlali admitted. However, the beauty blogger stated that this was a long time ago and that her girlfriend allowance should now be R100,000 per month.

Boity, on the other hand, stated that she had never received girlfriend allowance but that if she asked for it, she would receive it. However, if she were to receive girlfriend allowance, she would accept R450 000 every month. R100,000 is not practical for Boity and her lifestyle because she already works too damn hard for herself.

So, can Anton afford R450 000, or was it just Boity’s content creation?

Boity was nominated for an E! People’s Choice Award in the category of African Social Star of 2021, competing against Lasizwe Dambuza, Mihlali Ndamase, and TikTok star Witney Ramabulana.

She stated that the biggest activity she receives on social media is when she writes about Anton, adding, “this is beyond fantastic and is a reward for the people who have supported me and had my back…

“I don’t post anything from my personal life because people are curious, but he’s simply a great friend,” she clarified.
