She’s the country’s favorite coach right now. Her team is making waves and getting South Africans excited about the sport as they continue to shine.

And she’s winning accolades left, right and center.

Desiree Ellis was named the Women’s Coach of the Year for a third successive time at the 2022 Confederation of African Football Awards in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday.

South Africans, including former president Thabo Mbeki, congratulated her on consistently setting herself and her team apart.

But through the congratulations, there were calls for Banyana Banyana to get paid their worth.

One of the stars who is always vocal about it is presenter and businesswoman Bonang Matheba. She slammed the minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa’s congratulatory message to Banyana Banyana, telling the minister to give them money instead.
