Award-winning rapper Nasty C recently inked a lucrative deal with US record label Def Jam Recordings.
The 23-year-old rapper joins the label that has a stable filled with some of the world’s biggest stars such as Rihanna, Frank Ocean, and Jay-Z to name a few.
Since his debut on the Mzansi hip-hop scene, Nasty C has been praised and criticized.
Early on in his career, the Hell Naw hitmaker was criticized for having an American accent, which critics dubbed as “fake”.
Nasty C has always brushed away the hate and now, imagine if he had listened to them, where would he be.
A tweep decided to call out Nasty for having an Atlanta trap/Sound on his new single There They Go. The rapper by now is very much used to this comment and reminded the critic that the reason he even raps is “because of an Atlanta trap n***a”.
Nasty C has always been vocal about his musical influences TI and Lil Wayne and even has an upcoming collaboration with Tip, which reportedly be on his upcoming album, Zulu Man With Some Power.
Fellow rapper AKA, made sure to show support for the young rapper in his comment section, encouraging him to “take us to the top”.
“Don’t make the same mistake as me … do WHATEVER. THE FUXK. YOU WANT,” commented the Fela In Versace hitmaker.
AKA himself is no stranger to critics’ views about his music, the rapper has clapped back at numerous critics over the classic auto-tune comment.
