Further than 60 people have been nabbed on the Copperbelt by the Department of immigration for rescinding the terms and conditions of their immigration permits and trading immorally.
The operation was concertedly conducted by immigration officers from Ndola and Kitwe following a public roar over the affluence of illegal emigrants.
Department of immigration prophet Namati Nshinka said the operation was carried out on June 25th and 67 persons in a clean-up operation conducted in colorful corridor of Kitwe were restrained.
Those nabbed were 34 Tanzanians from Chisokone Market for trading without permits, and 14 Chinese for rescinding the terms and conditions of their immigration permits. Others restrained were 11 Suspected Banned Emigrants, Five Congolese, Two Burundians, and One Malawian, ” he said.
